Build cross-chain with deBridge during ETHOnline

Start building powerful cross-chain applications where messages and value flow seamlessly.

Builders, Ethereum’s flagship online hackathon, ETHOnline, is nearly upon us! We’re thrilled to invite you as one of the sponsors of the event to come to build the future of cross-chain using deBridge.

As Ethereum’s third online hackathon, ETHOnline 2022 is expected to once again welcome builders from nearly every continent — last year having seen over 1,160 hackers from 77 countries, and $350,000 in prizes. To get started, you can sign up in a few short steps here.

Why hack with deBridge at ETHOnline?

We are fully committed to helping you build amazing cross-chain applications, and we want to see you triumph at the hackathon!

Our core team will be here to support you every step of the way on your cross-chain build. If you have any challenges or questions at any point, you’ll receive support from:

Ideas to get you started

When it comes to building cross-chain applications and primitives with deBridge, the possibilities are endless! We’ve compiled a list of ideas below, to get the ball rolling.

Cross-chain lending and borrowing

-Use any collateral on any chain, and take out a loan against these assets

Example 1: Have ETH on Ethereum, take out a loan in Matic on Polygon, and repay the loan on Arbitrum

Example 2: Seamlessly move any positions between Aave V3 protocol deployments on different chains

Swaps and exchanges

-Integrate deSwap into your exchange, application, or wallet

Example: Leverage transaction bundling capabilities to build a set of complex cross-chain interactions that involve cross-chain swap + interaction with DeFi protocols

Yield aggregator

-Automate yield strategies and tap into the best yield opportunities across chains

Example: Automatically move and balance assets across chains to get the highest yield

Governance voting

-Collect votes in one single chain using assets bridged and stacked across all supported chains

Example 1: Having assets on one chain and being able to vote on a different one

Example 2: Conduct governance voting in several L2s simultaneously and settle the result of voting in Ethereum

NFT Bridging

-Securely transfer existing NFTs across chains with deBridge

Example: Create cross-chain native NFT collections across different chains

Combine applications and DeFi primitives:

Create an application for Gnosis Safe that allows to deploy Safes from any chains and have it controlled by another Safe through generic messaging

Is there another incredible cross-chain application or primitive that you’re excited to build? Surprise us! You’re only limited by your imagination, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll build.

Prizes 🏆

We’ll be looking to reward the most innovative cross-chain applications/integrations built with the deBridge SDK and generic messaging infrastructure. The prizes will be based on:

-The way in leveraging deBridge

-Originality

-Usability (how complete it is)

🥇 $2,500 in USDC

🥈 $1,500 in USDC

🥉 $1,000 in USDC

That’s just the beginning — we also want to help teams build and progress after the hackathon! We work closely with many different blockchain teams and many protocols/applications, so we can help facilitate intros to investors and partners, conversations, and more. Our main goal is to support those who leverage deBridge to innovate, build new and exciting primitives and applications, and push the cross-chain space forward.

Hackathon expectations

  • You should have an MVP/prototype, for instance via a front-end that communicates with smart contracts that have been deployed on mainnet.
  • The prototype should be developed and deployed on at least two supported chains. We currently support: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom, and recommend that you use low-cost blockchains like Polygon and BNB Chain.
  • Include a short deck with what your build focuses on.
  • If you include a video to present your project, stay within 5 minutes.
  • Add a link to your Github source code when submitting.

About deBridge

deBridge is a generic messaging and cross-chain interoperability protocol that enables anyone to build powerful cross-chain applications where value and messages flow seamlessly. The protocol is a secure infrastructure and framework for:

  • Cross-chain composability of smart contracts
  • Cross-chain swaps between any assets. deSwap is one of the applications built on top of deBridge
  • Bridging of any arbitrary asset and message in one transaction
  • Interoperability and bridging of NFTs
