deBridge OP Horizon Season 2 is now live

deBridge OP Horizon Season 2 is now live

We’re thrilled to introduce deBridge OP Horizon, a growth initiative for users and projects in the deBridge ecosystem, distributing a 150,000 OP grant with the support of the Optimism Foundation.

Over the course of 8 weeks, we will distribute 150K OP tokens (roughly $375,000 as of the date of this post) among deBridge solvers and users of the deBridge app and of projects that have integrated with deBridge Widget, deBridge API, and used deBridge infrastructure to bridge to/from Optimism.

The grant is used to rebate fees and gas expenses for users, bridging liquidity in the Optimism ecosystem. We will publish detailed reports on the OP distribution bi-weekly in this public folder.

We'll distribute the OP tokens as rebates every two weeks on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis. This cycle continues biweekly until the campaign ends or all OP tokens are distributed, whichever comes first.

Reports for each period passed are to be published on the following dates:
December 23, January 6, January 20, February 3

We welcome dApps to integrate with deBridge and enable zero-cost bridging by participating in the OP Horizon campaign.

NOTE: Rebates works only when the OP banner is displayed in our UI.

How does it work? A step-by-step guide

Every time you bridge to/from Optimism via deBridge or one of our ecosystem partners, you receive a fee rebate based on your activity. The OP tokens will be rebated in an FCFS manner until the entire grant has been distributed to users and projects in the deBridge ecosystem.

Any cross-chain trade has the following costs paid by users:

  • Gas costs to initiate intent/trade
  • deBridge fees: fixed fee + 4bps variable fee

Spread of the trade that consists of:

  • Market maker operating expenses (including gas)
  • Market maker incentive (4bps)
  • Call data execution and integration partner fees (if the trade is initiated through Optimism-based apps and users pay the protocol fee with the same intent).

To prevent abuse, the total rebate for the transfer shouldn’t exceed 2% of its USD equivalent.

Trades to Optimism

For all the bridging trades made to Optimism from any of our supported chains, you will receive the entire fee amount as an OP rebate. For example, if you paid $5 to bridge from Base to Optimism (in total, including variable (4bps) and fixed fee), you will receive $5 worth of fee rebates in OP.

It’s important to note that we will rebate the transaction fees (gas costs) for both users and takers in full in OP tokens. We’ve reduced the spread by 4 bps of the taker incentive as market makers are incentivized in OP tokens from the grant. To verify the exact amount of fees to be rebated, hover the mouse over the "Fees Rebate" badge.

Please note that you will not accrue deBridge points for transfers to Optimism, where the transfers qualify for fee rebates.

Trades from Optimism

If you move out of Optimism, the fee rebate will be half of the overall onboarding fee (including variable fee (2bps) and fixed fee) that you paid. For example, if you paid $6 to bridge from Optimism to Base, you will receive $3 in OP as a fee rebate on the source chain (Optimism).

Takers who fulfill intents will also receive operating expenses rebates in OP tokens and a standard incentive (4bps for inflows and 2bps for outflows). By incentivizing takers, we aim to provide everyone with an improved user experience and better rates.

Please note that you will accrue only 50% deBridge points for transfers from Optimism, where the transfers qualify for fee rebates.

How will I receive my fee rebate?

All eligible users will automatically receive the fee rebates after the corresponding period is finished. If your wallet has qualified, you will receive the rebate to your Optimism wallet that initiated or received the trade.
