Integrating Jito Bundles for High-Efficiency Bridging to Exotic Solana Assets
We’re excited to announce that we have integrated bundles by Jito Labs, a high-performance Solana MEV infrastructure provider, to bring the best pricing possible on bridge trades to long-tail assets on Solana.
Jito Bundles will help our market makers fulfill the intent for cross-chain trades opening up into any long-tail assets and meme coins on Solana. Bundles ensure the transactions happen in an atomic way, making the intent profitable and leading to immediate fulfillment of trade on the destination chain.
The Problem
deBridge uses an intent-based model with a 0-TVL design to fulfill all the trades created on its bridge. The user creates an intent specifying all the parameters for the trade, such as destination chain, asset contract address, and desired price. A market maker then looks at this intent, and if they think it's profitable, they go ahead and fulfill the trade right away.
This method works well for trading liquid assets because market makers usually keep them on the balance sheet. But if a market maker doesn't have the required asset, they need to:
- Swap into that asset from USDC, and
- Fulfill the intent in the same transaction
Market makers need to quickly swap assets, fulfill the trade, and fit all the data into a single transaction in one go. When dealing with volatile assets like memecoins, they have to navigate through a complex process to send assets to users on the destination chain. However, the atomic nature of a transaction limits the number of hops they can take for a particular swap.
Because of this, market makers had to limit themselves to using no more than 20 accounts for a swap on Jupiter's platform to make sure all data fits in one transaction. This becomes tricky with memecoins and long-tail assets that require more complicated routes with a larger number of accounts, making it hard to meet the needs of users wanting to trade these assets.
Jito Bundles solves this
Jito’s innovative Bundles feature allows the execution of multiple transactions in an atomic way where it’s all-or-nothing: either every transaction goes through successfully or none of them do. This means there's no longer a need to restrict how many swap actions can happen.
Market makers can now pick the best path for a swap without bearing the risk that swap transactions will succeed but the fulfillment of intent will fail. Thanks to Jito, market makers can now ensure they stay delta-neutral while fulfilling trades for any type of liquid asset on Solana, including meme coins.
This ensures that users can trade into any type of memecoins on Solana, such as WIF, WEN, BRETT, etc. from any chain in a few clicks. Now, anyone can trade into Solana memecoins with ease from Ethereum or any L2 chain in seconds, with the best pricing possible.
What are Jito Bundles?
Bundles are a list of transactions that execute sequentially and atomically, i.e., either all the transactions execute or none of them. This ensures that a user can send a bundle that contains multiple transactions and guarantees that they are all executed one after the other.
Bundles are a better ordering mechanism that helps minimize bot spam on Solana. They are generally used to perform atomic arbitrage, liquidations, or batch DeFi operations and improve the on-chain experience for everyone.
